Instant Replay
XSplit Broadcaster's Replay adds instant replay to your scene/s. Playback your livestream/recording's significant and exciting moments for added engagement.
In this guide you will learn how to use Replay in two simple scenarios:
Replay Using Hotkeys
Replay Upon Scene Enter
This guide will only teach you how Replay can be used in the simplest way possible. Let your creativity run free and use these basics to come up with other cool ways to use Replay!
The Replay source can be added by going to Add Source > General Widgets > Replay.
Assign a key or a combination of keys to trigger Replay. One ideal use-case of this is when Replay is in the same Scene as your Active Scene.
Let's create a single scene. Arrange your sources such that the replay source is on top of other sources. The replay source is not visible by default and will only appear when activated, and will disappear again after.
In this guide we're going to use two sources: a video file and Replay, with the latter on top of the list to make sure it shows when active.
Once done, right-click the Replay source to show the source properties.
Choose your preferred source. The replay source will start working only if there's an active recording or livestream.
Auto
Replay will connect to the whichever streaming output is currently active
Local Recording - Active Scene
Replay will connect when there's an ongoing local recording
Local Streaming
Replay will connect when your chosen Broadcast output is currently active.
Set your preferred hotkey. We'll use CTRL+SHIFT+R as an example.
Please make sure the hotkey you're using is not used in any other active apps in your system to avoid issues.
Set your preferred Replay time value (in seconds) to determine how much time you'd like Replay to show before it disappears.
Uncheck Play on scene enter to prevent Replay from automatically activating when you switch back to the Scene.
Set the playback volume. Since Replay will also output audio, you may also want to change the Audio Output setting depending on your setup:
System Sound
The Replay audio will be heard from your default playback device. This you will also hear the Replay audio in real time once triggered.
Stream Only
The audio from Replay is directed only to your local recording or livestream, and will be muted from your default playback device. This means only your viewers will hear the Replay audio (for livestreams), or your Replay audio will only be heard when you playback your saved local recording.
Once done, start your livestream or recording depending on your setup. Replay should be active and can be triggered to appear in your scene via hotkey.
In this example you will see the Replay source as it appears at the top-right of your screen when triggered.
Replay will be triggered the moment you switch to a scene where the Replay Source is added. This is great when you want a dedicated scene to serve as your Replay scene.
Let's create two different scenes:
Scene 1 - Your main scene/s
Here you will add the sources for your main presentation. For this guide let's add a video source. You can add other scenes as well if you prefer.
Scene 2 - The replay scene
Go to Add Source > General Widgets > Replay. This is your dedicated Replay scene.
Once done, right-click the Replay source to show the source properties.
Choose your preferred source. The replay source will only start working if there's an active recording or livestream.

Local Recording - Active Scene

Broadcast Output
Replay will connect when your chosen Broadcast output is currently active.
Check Play on scene enter. This will trigger Replay automatically when you switch to your replay scene.
