Clicking on the ☆ icon sets the currently selected transition and timing as a favorite.

Favorite transitions can be accessed through a menu by clicking the ˅ arrow beside the ☆ icon as well as by right-clicking on specific scenes.

Stinger Transitions

Stinger transitions use short video clips to add dynamic visuals between scenes. Perfect for emphasizing significant changes or segments in your stream.
It's the demo stinger!

Stinger transitions can have alpha transparency which allows content from the scenes to still be visible while the stinger plays. Only a few video formats support alpha transparency such as MOV and WEBM. Since MOV with alpha channels are usually large files, XSplit Broadcaster uses WEBM as the native format for stingers.

MOV videos and sequential PNG images can easily be converted to the native WEBM format and added to the Transitions menu using the Add Stinger wizard. Existing WEBM with alpha can also be used with the Add Stinger wizard to instantly add them to the Transitions menu.

Adding a new stinger

Click on the Transitions drop-down menu then go to Stingers Transitions > Add transition…

Click to browse and select your source file.

You can change the Stinger name and Transition point if you prefer.

You can access additional settings as well by enabling Show advanced settings.

For WebM source files, click Add stinger.

For MOV and PNG source files, click Convert and add stinger.
XSplit will automatically convert MOV or PNG sequence files to a WEBM file.

You will be prompted once the conversion is complete and successfully added, and you can find your newly added stinger under the Stingers Transitions menu.

You can also convert MOV and sequential PNG files to a stinger compatible WEBM format using the Stinger Creator extension.

Luma Transitions

Luma transitions utilize black and white masks to create stylish effects. Ideal for creating professional-looking transitions without complex editing.

Adding a new Luma Transition

Click on the Transitions drop-down menu then go to Luma Transitions > Add transition…

Click to browse and select your source file.

You can change the Transition name if you prefer. You can access additional settings as well by enabling Show advanced settings.

Click Convert and add stinger. XSplit will automatically convert MOV or PNG sequence files to a WEBM file.

You will be prompted once the conversion is complete and successfully added, and you can find your newly added transition under the Luma Transitions menu.

Transition Manager

Take control of your scene transitions with the Transition Manager. This tool allows you to apply and manage specific scene-to-scene transitions, overriding global settings allowing you to tie your presentation better when switching scenes

The Transition Manager is available under the Tools menu and adding transition settings here will automatically override the global default for the chosen scenes.

For instance, while using a uniform Fade transition for several scenes, you can specifically designate a distinct transition for a “Final Scene” without the need to switch transitions or right-clicking to use a favorite transition.

The Transition Manager's override is disabled by default. Transitions set using Transition Manager takes priority even when manually selecting a Favorite Transition by right-clicking a scene button.
