Camera: Background Removal

XSplit Broadcaster offers various background removal options for your camera sources, whether you're using a green screen or not. Follow these steps to access and configure the different background removal modes.

Right-click the camera source in your presentation to open your Camera Source Settings then go to the Background Removal tab.

Once inside the Background Removal tab, you’ll have three Modes for background removal:

Automatic
Chroma Key

Automatic Background Removal

Automatic background removal works without a green screen and uses VCam technology to remove your background in real-time.

Quality: Choose from Standard, High, or Highest to adjust the quality of background removal. Higher quality will use more hardware resources.
Hardware Acceleration: You can select Automatic or choose a specific CPU, GPU or Intel NPU for processing.
Remove Chair: This option allows you to filter out or keep your chair visible in your camera feed.

* Calibrate: Click Calibrate to optimize background removal based on your system hardware.

Download and install the Legacy version from the dashboard here.

Setting up your Vimeo Output

Go to Broadcast → Set up a new output → Vimeo.

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series (3060 or better) or AMD Radeon RX 6000 (6600 or better) for 1080p dual format streams. AMD Radeon RX 7000 series (7600 or better) for dual format streams in 1440p.

Stream a landscape scene to Twitch while also broadcasting a portrait version for YouTube Shorts without juggling separate scenes or duplicate sources. It’s similar to the multi-canvas features you might have seen in other streaming tools, but now it’s built right into XSplit.

Multi Output

XSplit’s new Multi Output mode allows you to stream multiple canvas layouts simultaneously.

You can switch to this mode from the top-right menu in XSplit Broadcaster. Once enabled, two canvases will be shown with their own controls and resolution settings.

Both canvases are linked to the same Scene, so switching scenes updates both layouts at once. They also share the same Sources, meaning you only need to manage one set of sources. You can still decide which sources appear on each canvas and adjust their positions independently. We’re rolling out a new XSplit Broadcaster update focused on workflow improvements across the main UI, Preview Editor and live streaming setup. This release also adds support for newer platform features from Twitch and YouTube as well as extending Automatic Background Removal to more source types.

Release Highlights

UI and Top Bar Changes

This release continues the UI work introduced in recent versions with a rework of the top bar and main Stream and Record controls. These actions now sit closer to the rest of your production controls, making them easier to access while setting up, switching layouts or going live.

The top bar flow has also been updated. The Output drop-down is now where you choose which channels are assigned to the main Stream button, while the Record control now sits alongside it with clearer behavior across both Single Output Mode and Multi Output Mode.

In Multi Output Mode, this updated layout also makes more sense as creators manage more than one canvas, aspect ratio or output at the same time.

Revamped Preview Editor

The Preview Editor has been updated to better match the main Broadcaster wind
