Release Notes (October 2024 Release)

XSplit Broadcaster 4.5.2409.1207

Release Highlights

Audio Mixer updates include delay settings for Global Devices in both Presentation Sources mode and System Devices mode. Previously, delay for these devices could only be adjusted in Audio Settings while in System Devices mode. All audio tracks are now enabled by default when adding devices and sources, so users no longer need to manually configure each track. Various UI/UX improvements have also been made, including volume syncing for sources that share the same process. Core-level changes to improve per-process volume control have been implemented, with additional UI improvements planned to make managing audio sources even easier.

For Twitch Output properties, enabling the Twitch VOD Audio Track has been simplified with a checkbox, while still allowing users to manually select a specific track if needed. Users can now also manually select a specific Twitch ingest server when using Enhanced Broadcasting.

Automatic Background Removal has been updated for better accuracy, with NPU support for hardware acceleration coming soon.

Application Audio Capture has been fixed so it no longer stops capturing audio when the related application window is not visible, such as when hidden to the system tray.

Developer Notes

WASAPI Integration Improvements have been made to reduce latency when using per scene audio devices with WASAPI. This feature is currently disabled by default as further testing is ongoing. To enable it, add the p:enablewasapisrc=1 parameter at launch. For instructions on adding startup parameters, see this guide.

Per-Process Volume Control Changes have been made at the core level to improve how sources that share the same process are handled.¹ These aim to provide a cleaner and more efficient way to manage audio sources especially for complex scenes with multiple sources that output audio. UI changes to further improve this functionality are planned.

¹ For example, when one process is used by Window Capture, Game Capture and Application Audio Capture sources at the same time.
