Release Notes (May 2026 Release)

This XSplit Broadcaster update adds the new Live Captions tool, AI Voice Clarity, updates to the pre-stream dialog for several streaming services and more improvements to background removal, streaming setup and Presentation Sources mode.

We’ve also included fixes for Twitch, YouTube Live, Kick, Restream, Amazon IVS as well as the Preview Editor, Multi Output Mode plus general app stability.

Release Highlights

Live Captions

This release adds the new Live Captions tool for XSplit Broadcaster.

Access it from the Tools menu then selecting Live Captions.

Live Captions can be used to generate captions while streaming and has been tested with Twitch and YouTube Live. For Twitch, captions can be sent by enabling Send Caption in the Live Captions tool.

For YouTube Live, enable Send Caption in the Live Captions tool and enable Closed Captions in the YouTube Live pre-stream dialog.

Updated Pre-Stream Dialog

We’ve updated the pre-stream dialog for Facebook, Kick, Twitch, Vimeo and YouTube Live. You can now choose how XSplit Broadcaster handles stream details when starting a stream: Show the pre-stream dialog each time or reuse the previous stream details to skip it on future stream starts.

This should make it easier to prepare stream information inside XSplit Broadcaster without needing to repeat the same setup each time.

Stream details can also be updated from the Set stream info button in the Output properties.

Background Removal Updates

This update includes improvements to background removal in XSplit Broadcaster.

This also includes fixes related to automatic background removal behavior for NDI stream sources and Webpage sources.

Presentation Sources Mode by Default

Presentation Sources mode is now the default Audio Mode setting. Default Speaker and Default Microphones are added by default in the Audio Mixer so behavior will be the same with the older Audio Devices Mode while having access to newer features like the above AI Live Captions.

This is part of our ongoing work to make source behavior more consistent for users working with presentations, multiple layouts and Multi Output Mode.
