Release Notes (December 2024 Release)

Release Highlights

Automatic Background Removal has received several updates and is now out of Beta! Premium license holders now have full access to the feature, while Free license users can still use it, albeit with a watermark.

It now supports Intel NPU hardware acceleration, available for compatible processors. This frees up CPU and GPU resources for other tasks like higher-quality streaming or smoother gameplay.

Channel Import/Export options have been added to make setup sharing easier. You can now export your Broadcast and Local Recording channel settings to a file for backup or sharing. This file can be imported later to quickly restore your setup.

Vertical Streaming support has been added to the YouTube Live output plugin. Streaming in a 9:16 aspect ratio now allows your live content to appear in the YouTube Shorts feed.

Video Encoding has received several updates to improve performance and flexibility. High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC/H.265) ¹ support has been added for Nvidia Encoder (NVENC). HEVC support for Intel Quick Sync and AMD Video Code Engine (VCE) is coming soon ².

NVENC integration has been improved to better utilize your NVIDIA GPU's capabilities. This ensures encoding tasks are optimized for the supported resolutions and performance limits of your hardware.

Intel AV1 encoding now includes Screen Content Coding (SCC) parameters, which improve the compression of text and graphics-heavy content such as screen recordings and presentations.

Other improvements include the removal of encoding limits for AMD VCE, so you'll be able to use the encoder simultaneously for different tasks. General updates to video encoder efficiency have also been made. Expect enhanced stability, reduced desync issues and overall improved performance.
