What's transition speed?

what is it? and what does it do?

That would be the time XSplit uses to transition between two scenes (if any effect has been chosen I presume). Per default, I believe it is set to 300 ms (0,3 seconds). Increase it to get a slower transition effect, and decrease to speed it up.

Sorry for bumping this thread, but I actually just wonder what the transition is good for? Does it increase the video quality as a whole or can I keep it to none and maintain a better streaming quality?

Transition speed is the speed at which xsplit changes SCENES, it has no effect on your video quality or stream quality. Typical usage= Switching from live game to a "Be back soon" image, etc etc.
