HD PVR "No signal from device detected" help

when i click on add camera then my pvr it just says "No signal from device detected" and just shows a black screen. Does anyone now what i have to do to get it working? i have the first pvr with the original software. Do i have to change any settings on a total media extreme?

Don't cap your video with "Camera." Just use the capture screen in TME and then use "Game" and select "Capture Module" or "Arcsoft Total Media Extreme" (not sure what it shows up as).

Thanks for the reply and that probably works but i only have the free version and for that it says i need to pay for the full one. Is there any other way i can do it?
